Tristan and I celebrate our 5th anniversary on Friday. 5 years! That’s hard to believe. But at the same time, it’s not. It’s weird to think about life before Tristan (even before Gabe). But has it really been 5 whole years since that evening in June? We have some really fun festivities this week, that just happen to line up perfectly with our anniversary. I’ll share more later (including lots of pictures) but we are going to be part of a photo shoot… as the bride and groom! And it’s complete with hair and makeup artists, a designer gown, flowers, a beautiful venue, amazing photographers… even a horse. I’m so excited. This week is a bit crazy, but I wanted to say hi! I thought today I’d share some photographs from our wedding. June 14 2008. Our photographer was Shay Cochrane (all the wedding photographs in this post were taken by her). She’s phenomenal. (I’ve taken one of her photography workshops and it was so great!) Here’s a little peak at our wedding… (a few days shy of) 5 years ago…
Do I look like a baby? There’s good reason. I had just turned 20 the month before! (Tristan was 22.) My dress was from JCrew. I never went dress shopping. I saw this one online, loved how simple it was, ordered it in 2 sizes, returned the one that was too big, and then had some slight alterations on the one that fit. My bridesmaids dresses were from Anthropologie. And most of the details (well, all of them actually) were adventures in diy. The flowers. The programs. The signs. The cupcake stand. Even 200 some cupcakes were made by my brother in law and his (now) wife! It was such fun. And it was all pre-Pinterest! Oh, how I’m sure Pinterest has changed the wedding industry.
And this is us now. 5 years later. We both have considerably less hair. Oh, how I love him! For better or worse. In sickness and in health. For richer or poorer. To love and to cherish. Oh, how I cherish him!
I’m hoping to be back one more time later this week. I have a couple projects to share! But until then, I hope you have a wonderful week!
